From 19 to 26 April 2024, the NATO Deputy Secretary General, Mr Mircea Geoană, will travel to the United States of America.
On Friday 19 April, the Deputy Secretary General will travel to Washington DC, where he will attend a dinner to mark the 20th anniversary of Romania’s accession to NATO.
On Monday 22 April, Mr Geoană will meet with senior U.S. Administration Officials.
On Tuesday 23 April, the Deputy Secretary General will speak at the Special Competitive Studies Project (SCSP). He will also meet the Deputy Secretary of State, Mr Kurt Campbell, and the Acting Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, Ms Melissa Dalton.
On Wednesday 24 April, Mr Geoană will be in Boston, Massachusetts where he will visit Mass Challenge, part of NATO’s Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic. He will also address students and faculty at the Harvard Kennedy School.
On Thursday 25 April, the Deputy Secretary General will travel to Purdue, Indiana, where he will meet US Senator Todd Young, and will engage with private sector representatives and academia at Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy and Purdue University.
On Friday, 26 April, Mr Geoană will be in Chicago, Illinois. He will attend a meeting of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.
